Moving on to a new manufacturer, and the struggles of having high standards.

Hello All!

It has been a while since I have posted an update here on the site, for a plethora of reasons. The biggest reason is because of struggles we have had with our previous manufacturer.

We were having some very inconsistent quality items being shipped to us, and despite giving them several chances we could not get the manufacturer to resolve these issues. Some of the items were perfect or very near perfect; but unfortunately some were coming out with some pretty glaring issues.

I personally quality checked all our stock, and only kept the pieces that were up to my exacting standards; which is what remains in stock on the website at present. I want what is best for our customers-- I never want to deliver a subpar product! Alas, about half of what was delivered was not up to my standards, and we really can't afford to be double checking every piece ourselves and sending back half the stock!

Not to mention, we never got a single perfectly produced necklace despite ordering 15 of each in each colorway. They were 0 for 60. It was extremely disheartening. But, we didn't give up. After asking for our refund (which we are still working on getting from them!) we let them know we would be moving on to a manufacturer that could consistently make high quality pieces.

We contacted several more manufacturers, and thankfully found an ethical manufacturer with impeccable standards of quality. They have clients with collections in Nordstroms, Neiman Marcus, and other high end department stores. The samples we have received from them are beautiful, and the team has been a dream to work with resolving any issues. We are still in the process of perfecting the master copies with them; but we feel they will make much more consistent pieces just from the samples we received.

All that said, obviously this has greatly delayed our necklace launch, which was intended to happen last year. At present we are looking at a tentative summer or early fall launch. Stay tuned for more updates!

And on a personal note, I want to thank everyone for their patience. This has been a very difficult process for my partner and I to work through, filled with pitfalls and discouraging results from the old manufacturer. Your grace and understanding has been so appreciated though; and especially the cheerleading from fans and friends alike has been so inspiring for us to not give up. We can't wait until everyone can finally say hello to Ophelia the Batcat, and thank you for your continued support through everything!
